As we near World Hunger Day, it is vital to consider innovative ways to achieve the UN&apos;s second Sustainable Development Goal of &apos;zero hunger&apos;. Despite progress, 735 million people still suffer from famine according to the <a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.fao.org\/documents\/card\/en\/c\/cc3017en&quot;>SOFI report<\/a>.<\/p><p>Imagine a world where everyone has access to nutritious food. Technological innovations like biotechnology and vertical farming offer hope. But can these advancements truly address hunger?<\/p><p>Let&apos;s discuss accessibility, environmental impact, ethics, and sustainability. Based in the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, Ei Hnin works on promoting the topic of agrifood systems in the discussions in Geneva around climate change, biodiversity and pollution. She is also seconded part-time at the Risk-Informed Early Action Partnership (REAP) Secretariat, hosted by the <a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.ifrc.org&quot;>IFRC<\/a>, and supports FAO engagement in global initiatives on early warnings and anticipatory action. Previously, Ei Hnin worked at the Partnership for Action on Green Economy, hosted by <a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.unep.org&quot;>UNEP<\/a>.
