Bern Edition 2025<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Basel Edition 2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

foraus and Proberaum Zukunft are jointly staging future challenges facing Swiss foreign policy in a unique setting. Following a successful run of the first scenario, \u2018Die Jahrtausendflut\u2019, in Bern (spring 2025), the next edition will take place in autumn 2026 at Basel Town Hall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A three-phase project<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Politique en sc\u00e8ne: Zukunft entscheiden\u2019 is structured as a three-phase project:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 1: <\/b>With the help of experts, the scenario is developed and refined, and all the facts are compiled, in a complex process. The aim is to create an evidence-based future scenario that addresses current foreign policy issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 2: <\/b>The scenario will be presented over several evenings as a staged debate, during which an audience will engage with high-profile experts from politics, business, academia, civil society and public administration, and will have to make a decision within a very short timeframe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 3:<\/b> The content discussed during these evenings will be further developed by foraus and ultimately translated into political motions and recommendations for action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is this project important?<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political issues must be presented in a way that is both scientifically sound and understandable, and above all, emotionally engaging. Foreign policy, in particular, often seems distant, complex and removed from everyday life. The flood of information often leads to a so-called \u2018sense of powerlessness\u2019, in which one\u2019s own political participation seems futile. And although many young people are involved in initiatives such as \u2018Fridays for Future\u2019 \u2013 for example, in the field of climate policy \u2013 their level of political participation remains very low (srf 2023<\/a>). Political processes must be brought to life through new, innovative formats. This requires methods drawn from the arts and culture<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is supported by a cross-party advisory board, which ensures the visibility and quality of the project.
