We shape foreign policy by enabling new voices in the public discourse – yours too?
We are always looking for young people who would like to use foraus as an amplifier for their foreign policy ideas. Use our platform to draw the attention of the Swiss public to emerging issues or publish your approach to overcoming a known reform deadlock. You don’t have to be a member to publish via foraus, but you can always look for co-authors in our network. We welcome contributions in German, French, English and Italian and are also open to other languages after prior clarification.
Policy Briefs
In foraus publications, also known as policy briefs, we formulate independent, evidence-based, and forward-looking recommendations for action for Swiss decision-makers and the general public. foraus’ strong network in the administration, media and politics, as well as high-profile launch events with a relevant audience, enable you to have a great political impact with your ideas and to be heard directly. In terms of content, our publications already cover a wide range of topics – but you are encouraged (with co-authors or on your own) to leave your mark in other policy areas as well. For quality assurance, our voluntarily engaged review board as well as external experts check all work for its scientific quality, political relevance and feasibility.
If you are interested in (co-)writing a publication, please contact us at any time by email, call our offices or get to know us informally at an event. We support you with advice on content ideas, through transparent publication guidelines and processes, a coaching system with experienced authors and various opportunities to find other foraus members with a shared thematic interest. We look forward to hearing your innovative ideas anytime.

foraus welcomes diverse, nuanced and strong opinions on all areas of Swiss foreign policy, international affairs and current domestic policy debates with international relevance and warmly invites guest bloggers. The Policy Fellow expert network
foraus has a nationwide and thematically broad-based network of young experts who regularly express their political positions and have demonstrated their expertise in practice by repeatedly publishing recommendations for action. They are the first port of call for any media enquiries to foraus, panel appearances, expert consultations, representation of foraus in relevant committees, and more. Our entry criteria to join the ranks are very transparent: publish one publication, three blog posts or a consultation response with foraus to gain public visibility as a foraus Policy Fellow and continue to shape the public discourse in your subject area with us.
