Half the people on the planet live in countries that will hold elections in 2024. In theory, it should thus be a triumphant year for democracy. In practice, it may well turn out to be the opposite. In some places, elections will reward the corrupt, in others they will increase the concentration of power. Nothing, however, will compare to the presidential election in the United States, either for grim and polarizing spectacle, or potential consequences. Against the backdrop of war and conflict from Ukraine to the Middle East, America’s future direction is on the line—both at home and abroad.

The webinar series held by Prof. Dr. Christoph Frei will take place as an online lunch session from 12.15pm to 1.30pm.
