✨ Join us on January 25th for the kick-off of the 2024 edition of the Think & Drink! This month, our focus is directed toward the 95th session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Therefore, we've chosen to dedicate our monthly event to this critical theme. While the Convention on the Rights of the Child stands as the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history, there remains considerable work ahead. New challenges, like those arising from climate change, pose additional risks to children. In contexts where legal frameworks exist, what further measures can we implement to safeguard children? How do we address emerging challenges, such as the impacts of climate change, in our efforts? The digital age has reshaped our world significantly; how might this transformation negatively impact children’s rights and safety? Join us to hear Philip D. Jaffé, Member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, on this matter!
Philip D. Jaffé is a distinguished Member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child since 2019, recently reelected for a second term until 2027. He is a Full Professor at the Centre for Children's Rights Studies (CCRS) at the University of Geneva and serves on the boards of the Swiss Center for Expertise in Human Rights, the International Institute for the Rights of the Child, Graines de Paix, Friends International Switzerland, and Pro Juventute (Switzerland’s foremost civil organization for child welfare).
