Samar is a Yemeni scholar whose research focuses on women, gender, development, and postcolonial studies in the Middle East. She is a Research Fellow under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and a PhD scholar in Development Studies at the School of Gandhian Thought and Development Studies. She is currently an intern at the Institute for Contemporary Chinese Studies and also serves as an intern at the Centre for Migration Policy and Inclusive Governance and the Centre for West Asian Studies at Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, Kerala, India.
