Red and blue teaming
Could you benefit from an outside opinion for your new strategy or roadmap? Together with our Policy Fellows, we offer red & blue teaming workshops to find flaws, weaknesses and vulnerabilities (Red Teaming), or highlight advantages & strengths to build upon (Blue Teaming). Prices range from CHF 8’000 to CHF 10’000 per either red or blue teaming. All prices are excl. VAT and travel costs.
As a participatory think tank, foraus can serve as a «sounding board» for organisations, supporting activities such as the evaluation of internal strategy papers. In this context, foraus conducts red teaming exercises on behalf of the organisation. The red teaming process is based on proven methodologies, such as those used by the UK Ministry of Defence.
Red teaming involves using an external perspective to systematically and critically examine strategies, approaches, and positions, challenging them as rigorously as possible through explicit counterarguments (role of the “devil’s advocate”). This process questions assumptions, explores alternative scenarios, and stress-tests the organisation’s strategic considerations against potential risks.
These red teaming exercises remain confidential and are not published in any form.
While red teaming challenges strategies from an external, critical perspective, blue teaming complements this by strengthening an organisation’s own positions and approaches. In this role, foraus acts as a constructive partner, helping to refine arguments, identify weaknesses in existing plans, and develop robust responses to potential counterarguments. Blue teaming ensures that strategies are not only stress-tested but also reinforced, enhancing their resilience and coherence. Like red teaming, these exercises are tailored to the organisation’s needs and remain strictly confidential.
foraus has already successfully explored possible futures in collaboration with the following organisations:
