Julia-Silvana Hofstetter is president and founder of the organization Women in International Security (WIIS) Switzerland, senior advisor at the ICT4Peace Foundation, and co-director of the Peace & Security Program at foraus. After working for the Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich, the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP), and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), she served as a WIIS Global NExtGen Fellow on Cybersecurity & Gender in 2021. Julia holds a master’s degree in international relations and political science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva. Her interests include the women, peace, and security agenda; digital peacebuilding; new technologies and armed conflicts; and cybersecurity and gender. Julia served as a Policy Fellow at foraus until fall 2026.
