Laura received her legal education at the University of Fribourg (with a specialization in European law), at the Center for Transnational Studies in London (Georgetown Law), and at the University of Basel (with a specialization in transnational law). She also earned a postgraduate Master’s degree (LL.M.) in European law at the College of Europe in Bruges. Laura handled numerous cases involving asylum and immigration law at a Zurich law firm and, prior to that, worked on the migration law aspects of Swiss foreign policy at the Swiss Mission to the EU as part of the Schengen/Dublin Legal Affairs Team. In addition, she completed a volunteer service in Togo and is a member of Democratic Lawyers of Switzerland (DJS). Following her research work at the Europa Institut at the University of Zurich, she has been working at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs since March 2022. Laura served as co-program director for migration from December 2020 to December 2022 and has then been active in the Europe Program until June 2026.
