Holding a PhD in Cognitive Sciences from the University of Neuchâtel, Mélinda is a postdoctoral researcher funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation for a project conducted at the University of California, Irvine, and Sorbonne University. Through experimentation and modeling, she studies how individuals and social networks evaluate the reliability of the information they receive. She plans to direct the next phase of her project toward computational diplomacy at the Science in Diplomacy Lab in Geneva. There, she will simulate how vigilance mechanisms can counter deniability strategies and reinforce actor accountability, encouraging greater integrity in information sharing. Committed to applying this knowledge to diplomatic challenges surrounding disinformation, she was invited by TRUEDEM (Trust in European Democracies) to present her research during a webinar on political trust and democratic governance.
