In collaboration with the Junior Diplomat Initiative, foraus invites you to an exclusive film screening and discussion of The Veto.

For 80 years, the UN Security Council’s permanent member veto power has been the subject of constant debate. At a time when the world faces escalating crises, the veto is pushing the multilateral system to a breaking point. What does it mean for the UN when collective measures fail to respond to grave international crimes such as genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity? The documentary film The Veto (2025) critically examines the use of this power.

Join us to explore the historical legacy, current challenges, and possible future prospects of the veto.

The film screening (in English) will be followed by a panel discussion with the film's director/producer Tim Slade, and experts from the field.
