Clara serves as an Associate External Relations Officer at the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) in Geneva, where her responsibilities include contributing to event coordination, external communications, and partnership development. Prior to joining UNICC, she worked as a Project Officer at the International Gender Champions (IGC) Secretariat, where she contributed to various projects covering thematic areas such as the climate-gender nexus. She has also gained professional experience at institutions including the OECD and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Clara holds a BA in War Studies and History from King’s College London and an MA in International Security from Sciences Po Paris.

Switzerland’s foreign policy is being reshaped by geopolitical fragmentation, fiscal pressure, militarisation, technological disruption, and climate crisis. At the same time, progress on gender equality is facing growing pushback. This publication argues that gender backlash is not a marginal issue, but a structural trend. It also argues that gender equality is not a symbolic add-on, but a condition for a credible and effective foreign policy.
