Michael Settelen ist Senior Consultant bei der China Macro Group (CMG), einer auf China-Fragen spezialisierten europäischen Unternehmensberatung, wo er sich unter anderem mit Chinas Wirtschafts- und Industriepolitik und deren Implikationen für ausländische Unternehmen beschäftigt. Davor hat er als Wirtschaftsredaktor Asien für die NZZ zu wirtschaftspolitischen Themen berichtet. Michael Settelen baute 2017 die Asien-Programmgruppe von foraus als Co-Leiter mit auf.
